The absolute best part about my job is that I get to connect with people. Being a photographer has given me the opportunity to meet so many people that I probably wouldn’t have otherwise. Christina and Michael were living in Atlanta when we first met via Skype. He’s from Iowa and Christina is from here, and they now live in Massachusetts. It’s such a gift to be able to work with people living many miles away, and I seriously couldn’t be more thrilled that these two found me because they are such wonderful humans!
With them, the vibe is always chill, goofy and a whole lot of fun - my favorite! I knew parts of the day would be very light hearted and easy going, and that was exactly what I experienced when I arrived at the house with the girls. Christina had simple and elegant details for daysssss so I tried not to get carried away, but I don’t think it worked. I love a good detail shot! Christie hung out with the guys before the ceremony and it was super low key. Of course, they needed to eat and it only seemed fitting for Michael’s sense of humor that they got a nicely posed photo doing so.
Once I arrived at the ceremony at Holy Family Parish in Poland, Ohio, I quickly realized the gravity of these two families merging together. Family and friends from across the country and even from the other side of the world made the trip to be a part of this union. It was very, very special! The ceremony was beautiful. Once we wrapped up family photos, we made our way to Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park. We sang, we laughed, we sang some more. Did I mention how musical everyone at this wedding was?! Side note, everyone who sang that day absolutely blew me away with how beautiful their voices were! Seriously. What a gift.
Our night ended at Drake’s Landing in Youngstown, Ohio, where there was dancing, more singing, sentimental moments and silliness all around. Pictures ended at twilight, where the twinkly lights on the patio were glowing and chatting and laughter was erupting. There’s just something about a good summer wedding that I just love. This one was a good one! Congratulations Michael and Christina!!!!
