How can I even begin to describe Courtney and Andy’s wedding day? It was a beautiful day, the wedding details were out of this world gorgeous, the vintage touches had my heart exploding and the people I was surrounded by all day were hella fun to be around! Just from getting to know Courtney and Andy before the wedding, I knew the day was going to be pretty chill and easy going. There was no rush for anything, which is always a welcome feeling for a wedding day!…Read More
Today's guest is Jenny from Willows by Wehr! She is florist based in Columbiana, Ohio. Not only is she AMAZING at her craft, but she is also such a vibrant, kind and fun person! The first day I met her was at a Rising Tide Society Tuesday's Together meeting and I've been chatting and collaborating with her ever since! She's a great person to go to for an honest opinion. She would never steer you in the wrong direction because she truly cares about her job and her clients. She wants to make your wedding day floral arrangements perfect! That being said, she was kind enough to write up some tips for all ya'll engaged chicks out there :P ...Read More
Heidi & Steve's small, rustic, barn wedding was so intimate and beautiful! The weather wasn't looking very favorable in the morning, but we crossed our fingers and hoped for the best. By the time I arrived at Das Dutch Haus Inn in Columbiana with the girls, the clouds started to break and the blue skies and sunshine pushed through. I secretly did a little happy dance and went right to work!
After chatting with Heidi for several months and getting to know her personality and style, I thought her dress was absolutely PERFECT for her when I saw it! It was absolutely beautiful and simple, with minimal beading and very soft and flowy tulle and lace. The bridesmaids looked gorgeous in flowy, long brown dresses that complimented the venue, florals and decor beautifully.
Sarah, my second shooter, met with the guys at The Links while they hung out and prepared for the day. They looked slick in their navy tuxes!
The ceremony took place in the barn at The Links at Firestone Farms. From the entrance to the ceremony backdrop, the barn was decorated by Heidi and both moms with flowers, TONS of greenery and rustic metal buckets and wooden crates. Two things I adore are flowers and greenery, so I was swooning!
There ceremony was short and sweet! A friend of Heidi and Steve's married them, which added such a nice and personal touch to the whole event. I love being able to witness such small and intimate weddings. There's something about them that I can always feel such a strong and overwhelming amount of love that each guest has for the bride and groom. This day was no exception!
Heidi and Steve chose their closest friends and family members to stand by their side while they said, "I do". Everyone was so darn sweet, and they dealt with the smoldering heat like troopers!
I think my absolute favorite part of the day was when we hopped on some golf carts and went with Heidi and Steve to a cute little field on the property to take some much needed Bride and Groom photos. The light was soft, bouncing in and out of the clouds at the most perfect times.
Now, I haven't known Heidi and Steve for very long, but in those moments where it was just the two of them, I could see so much adoration for one another. I could see so very clearly that they just bring out the absolute best in one another. I truly had such a wonderful time working with them and spending the day with their closest friends and family :]
