One thing about getting engaged and planning a wedding is all of the advice people will give you. You’ve probably heard a million times, “Wedding days go by so fast and you won’t remember a thing!” or, “Make sure you have your bridal survival bag with all of the little things you might need in case of a wedding day emergency.” But what about those things they don’t tell you? That’s what this blog is all about!…Read More
When I entered into the new year of 2018, I had such a momentum going and I couldn’t describe it. I instantly felt like the year was going to be the best in my career but also the most challenging. I never could’ve imaged just what that meant, but it truly was both absolutely wonderful and absolutely exhausting. Even with all of the challenges, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I experienced the highest of highs and fulfilled some career goals that I am so thankful for. I felt the pressure of being a seasonal wedding photographer in Ohio, with an overflowing work schedule and never ending to do list. I learned from my shortcomings and truly value those experiences, even though it felt at times like I’d never see the light at the end of the tunnel….Read More
Laid back weddings are my jam. To tell you that Marcus and Anthony’s wedding day was so easy going would be a complete understatement. From the get-go, everything was super chill, fun and joyful. They had details for days (#yasss) and I’m always in heaven photographing at The Avalon Inn in Warren, Ohio. The guys chose to get ready with their bridal party, family and friends in the presidential suite, which was super nice having everyone together and interacting. It made the environment stress free, which is exactly how you want to kick off a wedding day!
While I love the surprise of couples seeing each other for the first time on the wedding day, I think I love couples getting ready together just as much! I’m so glad Marcus and Anthony ultimately decided to help each other get ready. It’s an intimate and special time, and it gave them some time together before all of the chaos of the wedding day.
Being October in Ohio, you never know what the weather is going to do. We dodged the rain (for the most part) and headed off to Buhl Park in Hermitage, PA for family and bridal party photos. This little group that we had with us was the best! It was all smiles, laughter and hella fierce poses. What more could ya ask for?!
One of the things I love about Marcus and Anthony is that they wanted to keep things very simple and easy going. There wasn’t an over-the-top production. There wasn’t running around like crazy and stressing out. The focus was totally and completely on celebrating, just how a wedding should be! The ceremony took place in the ballroom of The Avalon. It was simple, short and sweet. Then, it was time to party! Let me tell you, I’ve seen some really great things at wedding receptions, but there was an impromptu dance battle and a full dance floor sing-a-long to a Journey song that rates suuuuuper high on my list of awesome reception moments. Plus, TONS of great dancing. It couldn’t have been a better day! Congrats times a million to you both, Marcus and Anthony!! <3 #PuttingTheUsInBurrus
