Erin and Shawn's Fourth of July Weekend Country Club Wedding at the Club at Shadow Lakes in Aliquippa, PA
It’s true, I never met a country club golf course wedding I didn’t like. Erin and Shawn’s wedding was certainly no different! They got married the day after the fourth of July at The Club and Shadow Lakes, a beautiful golf course in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. The weather was exactly what you’d expect for July, super hot and a chance of rain. Fortunately, we dodged any rain showers and had beautiful light as they became husband and wife by the pond overlooking parts of the golf course.
But let’s rewind for a second so I can tell you a little about Erin and Shawn. They’re both coaches. They’re both laid back. They both have a very clean and timeless quality to their style. They appreciate family and friends and I could just tell that those important people in their lives are the very foundation of their being. Erin is from Wisconsin and Shawn is from Pittsburgh. It was wonderful to see the large amount of people that traveled quite a bit for this wedding day! It was also wonderful to see the personal touches in all of the details for the wedding. Erin always made origami, so her creations were sprinkled around the reception. She also made a unique piece with origami and pictures of loved ones, which is something I’ve never seen before at a wedding. It was not only beautiful, but very personal and true to their personalities. Her veil was also special because her mom hand sewed the tiny beads on it. All of the details of the day were simple yet timeless and truly the perfect amount of extra to elevate the wedding space to be elegant and true to their style.
The entire day was super chill, light hearted and fun, with a few emotional moments that really made me so happy I was able to document this day for them. Erin and Shawn chose to do a first look (yasssss) and we were able to get all of the bridal party photos done before the ceremony, which left the evening with nothing but fun and relaxing for them. So when it was time to party, it was time to party. The dance floor was going non-stop all night and we wrapped up the evening with a sparkler sendoff (fitting for fourth of July weekend, right?). I think they definitely had the day they hoped for and I’m so glad I can now call them Mr. and Mrs. Chaffee! Congratulations my friends!! <3
