James and Taylor's Intimate Spring Garden Wedding at Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown, Ohio
My Memorial Day weekend officially kicked off my 2019 wedding season with two people whom I just adore, Taylor and James. It was also my first wedding (and shoot) since having baby Atlas, which would’ve made me nervous but I knew that the day would be so laid back and chill because it was Taylor and James’ wedding day. Ever since we met, working with them has been so easy, SO enjoyable and so much fun. I knew that their wedding day was the perfect transition into “working mom” mode!
We spent the entire day at Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown, Ohio. The girls and guys both hung out in their own rooms while Christie, my second shooter, Janel, my assistant, and I went to town photographing all of the beautiful details. If you’ve never been to Stambaugh, I have to tell you that it’s really hard to take a bad picture in there. The building is so gorgeous and the way the light falls through the giant windows is seriously magical. I had a hard time deciding where to shoot the details because there is just so much to work with. If you know me, you know I looooove styling details, so I was happy as can be while bouncing from one part of the building to the next, shooting until my heart was content.
We had perfect weather for the outdoor ceremony in the garden. Taylor’s brother married them in a simple and sweet ceremony. Not long after, the party began in the gorgeous Christman room. The elegant gold and greenery centerpieces looked perfect in that space! The reception kicked off with nice sentiments from Taylor’s dad followed by great food, mingling and lots of dancing. Because I’m a dog person and we really bonded over our pups, one of my favorite touches was the donation Taylor and James made to a local animal rescue in lieu of favors. They have such big hearts, which makes me just that much happier that they had an incredible wedding day. Congratulations times a million Mr. and Mrs. Palestro!!
