Mill Creek Park Engagement Session | Sarah & Dustin

With Spring right around the corner and everyone longing for sunny, warm weather, I was happy to get a break from the chilly winter air just in time for this lovely Engagement Session at Mill Creek Park in Youngstown. I've known Sarah and Dustin for MANY many years - since middle school to be exact. I was SO excited for them when I heard the big news about their engagement, and even MORE excited that they chose me (and my camera) to be with them on their big day :] I was definitely thrilled to hang out with them for a few hours, show them around the park a little bit and share laughs while I captured them simply enjoying each other. Okay, let's be honest - they were mostly laughing at each other - all in good fun ;]

We started in The Rose Gardens with the little flower buds popping up through the ground. Soon enough it'll be covered in gorgeous flowers and even more greenery.

Sarah and Dustin have known each other since 7th grade. They went to school together and actually dated in 8th grade (ahhh, middle school lust ;]). Though the relationship didn't last long, their paths would cross occasionally through some mutual friends. Once they graduated from high school, they both started their adult lives and began in their careers. By some stroke of fate, their paths crossed again nine years after high school graduation. At this point, they were both going through some similar but major life changes. So Dustin asked Sarah out to dinner, she said yes and they got along like no time had passed at all. Dustin proposed on Christmas morning, and the rest is history! They're planning an intimate, relaxed and romantic Fall wedding on October 16th at Hartford Hill Winery in a rustic barn that's been transformed into a winery.

Luckily, Sarah came equipped with the biggest scarf I've ever seen! It made for a good prop - and blanket ;]

We wrapped up their session over by Lake Glacier with a beautiful sunset and soft, warm light.
