Best of Mae B Photo Weddings 2018 and a Thank You to All of the Mae B Photo Couples
When I entered into the new year of 2018, I had such a momentum going and I couldn’t describe it. I instantly felt like the year was going to be the best in my career but also the most challenging. I never could’ve imaged just what that meant, but it truly was both absolutely wonderful and absolutely exhausting. Even with all of the challenges, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I experienced the highest of highs and fulfilled some career goals that I am so thankful for. I felt the pressure of being a seasonal wedding photographer in Ohio, with an overflowing work schedule and never ending to do list. I learned from my shortcomings and truly value those experiences, even though it felt at times like I’d never see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Last year, I met the most amazing couples, worked with incredible vendors and witnessed such special love and overwhelming joy. I photographed on a mountaintop, on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere, at sunrise on a cliff by the ocean, at the beautiful park where I live, in the sweltering heat, in the freezing cold on a rainy day and in so many other places, new and old. I lived such incredible new experiences in my career that I didn’t think possible. At times my “job” felt more like I was a wedding guest because I spent SO many wedding days surrounded by the most welcoming, joyful people. I’ve made new friends in the industry that I probably wouldn’t have met if it wasn’t for photography. I set out on new ventures and learned so much about myself and what I have to offer my clients and people and this world. And to say that I did most of this stuff last year while mourning the loss of one child and so thankfully carrying another one my body feels like such a wild, sad, grateful and ultimately happy thing.
This babe in my belly got to learn about the magic and power of love through you, my incredible clients. Baby K will come into this world knowing that love has no boundaries - that love is love, no matter who it is you love, and that if you believe that then you can climb mountains and build community and experience the best things in this life with people you care about the most. You are responsible for giving these wonderful experiences to my baby and that, above anything else, I am most grateful for. All of my clients hold a very special place in my heart and there aren’t the right amount of words I could say to ever show my gratitude. But I have to say thank you. You gave me a 2018 that I can never forget or replace. You’ve brought so much joy and love into my life and I hope to give that back to you in spades. So thank you, from the bottom of my heart. This blog is for you! It’s filled with some of my favorite moments 2018.
